A 11-day adventure-filled trip traveling from Cairns to Darwin through the most remote parts of the Savannah Way. We travel west through the tropical rainforest of Queensland, visit the Undara Lava tubes, Lorrella Springs, Lawn Hill and Kakadu before finishing in Darwin. Our tours are focused on providing you with an Australian outback adventure. We explore the best natural attractions along the Savannah Way; observing native wildlife in their natural habitat, hiking through gorges, discovering ancient aboriginal rock art and swimming in pristine natural waterholes.

Day 1: Millaa Millaa Falls and Kalkani crater
Stop At: Millaa Millaa Falls, Millaa Millaa, Queensland Australia
Millaa Millaa Falls are magnificent waterfalls surrounded by lush rainforest located on the Waterfalls Circuit.

Kalkani Crater is perfectly formed volcanic cinder cone which rises some 50m above the surroundings. This is an opportunity to observe this natural wonder.

Day 2: Undara Lava Tubes, the Ted Elliott mineral collection and Lake Belmore

The Undara Lava tubes are one of the true wonders of Australia and reputedly the longest lava tubes in the world.

Lake Belmore is the aquatic jewel of the Gulf Savannah. It is the largest body of fresh water in the region providing locals and tourists with a cool, clean, quiet place to swim, fish, ski, canoe and socialise.
The lake is stocked with Red Claw, Barramundi and Sooty Grunter with Black Bream occurring naturally.

Day 3: Krys Crocodile, Camp 119, Leichhardt Falls and Adels Grove

Day 4: Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park
Stop At: Lawn Hill Gorge, Wills Road, Boodjamulla National Park, Queensland 4825 Australia
We’ll spend the day in Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park. We’ll visit Lawn Hill Gorge, the upper Gorge (Indarri Falls) and complete the Island Stack walk.

Day 5: Riversleigh fossil fields, Hells Gates and Echo Gorge
Stop At: Riversleigh Fossil Fields, Boodjamulla National Park, Queensland Australia
The World Heritage area was inscribed for its outstanding natural universal values. It is one of the most significant fossil deposits in the world and the richest known fossil mammal deposit in Australia.

In days gone by, this is as far as the mounted police from Queensland would escort travelers, who were often on foot, on horseback at best. They gathered at places like Normanton and Burketown until they could travel in convoy because, after passing through the "Gates of Hell", they were on their own in wild and mostly unexplored country until they reached the relative safety of places like Katherine!!

Day 6: Borolloola and Lorella Springs Wilderness Park
Stop At: Borroloola, Borroloola, Top End, Northern Territory
Borroloola is a small isolated fishing township near the Gulf of Carpentaria area (it is 50 km upstream from the sea) which is located on the McArthur River. It is about as isolated as any township in the Northern Territory can be.

Lorella Springs Wilderness Park offers plenty of adventure, swimming and sightseeing. Whether you're into fishing, swimming, bird-watching, 4-wheel driving or bush-walking, there is enough to keep you busy!

Day 7: Lorella Springs Wilderness Park, Limmen National Park
Stop At: Limmen National Park, Nathan River Road, Borroloola, Northern Territory Australia
With almost a thousand kilometres of track on the property, we spend the daylight hours exploring Lorella Springs; visiting swimming holes, admiring Aboriginal sites and taking in the stunning views from all around the station.

Day 8: Southern Lost City and Butterfly gorge

The Southern Lost City is a walk among spectacular ancient leaning sandstone pillars.

Day 9: Nathan River Ranger Station and Information Centre, Lomarieum Lagoon and Mataranka

“Lomarieum Lagoon” is a tranquil spot along the Roper river and the lagoon is covered in glorious waterlilies.

Stop At: Mataranka Thermal Pool and Rainbow Springs, Homestead Road Elsey National Park, Mataranka, Northern Territory 0852 Australia
Depending on the conditions we will either go to Mataranka for a swim in the thermal pools or we will visit Bitter Springs for a swim.

Day 10: Kakadu National Park - Gunlom Falls and Yellow Waters Billabong
Stop At: Kakadu National Park, Kakadu National Park, Top End, Northern Territory
Our first stop will be a Gunlom Falls where you can swim in a natural infinity pool with breathtaking views over the Arnhem Land Escarpment. From here we will make a stop at Yellow Waters Billabong, popular with those wanting to spot local birds and wildlife.

Day 11: Kakadu National Park - Ubirr rock, Cahills crossing and a wildlife cruise
Stop At: Kakadu National Park, Kakadu National Park, Top End, Northern Territory
We’ll explore Aboriginal paintings at Ubirr rock and stop at Cahills Crossing. We’ll go to Bowali Visitor Information Centre and the park headquarters before we take a wildlife cruise.
