Day 1: HD Montevideo City Tour

Montevideo is the capital and most
populated city of Uruguay. It is also the
administrative headquarters of the
MERCOSUR. It has its coastline on the
Rio de la Plata (River Plate) and boasts an
ideal bay that forms a natural harbor. It
provides all kinds of cultural, gastronomic
and entertainment attractions as well as
outdoor walks along its rambla, squares,
parks and historical buildings. The tour
shows the most spectacular landmarks of the city: Plaza Independencia, Executive Tower where
the offices of the President of the Republic are located, Palacio Salvo, the Solís Theater, Port
Market, Agricultural Market, the Legislative Palace home of the legislative branch, the
Constituency Obelisk of 1830, the Estadio Centenario and much more. Along the United Nation’s
promenade we start the way back to downtown going through Punta Gorda and stopping in
Plaza Virgilio where you’ll get one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the coast

Day 2: FD Colonia de Sacramento

Immerse yourself in the history of this former stronghold of
Uruguay, where Spanish and Portuguese cultures and
history on the continent have left their mark.
This Colonia City Tour will pick you up from your hotel. Your
first stop is the historic quarter of the city, where you will go
on a walking tour through the cobblestone streets, seeing
the old buildings, remnants of fortifications and Spanish and
Portuguese museums, which protect and display the historical heritage listed by UNESCO as a
Heritage of Humanity. After this cultural visit, the guided tour will then take you to the modern city
centre and port zone, before
continuing on to the forest reserve,
Fernando Beach and the beautiful
waterfront avenue, where you can
appreciate the views of the Rio de la
Plata. From this point, you will
continue to the Real de San Carlos to
see the Plaza de Toros (Bullring), the
Frontón de Paleta Vasca (pelota
court – used for a game of hand or
racket ball played against a wall), the
Hipódromo (race track) and the old
dock. Finally, the shuttle will take you
back to your hotel.
