Day 1: Taipei - Kaohsiung

This morning you will depart from central Taipei in the early morning, and take high-speed bullet train to the 2nd biggest city of Taiwan – Kaohsiung. Your driver will be waiting at the train station upon arrival.

The first stop is Fo Guang Shan, a large monastery founded by Master Hsing Yun in 1967. The signature of the temple is the huge statue of Buddha Amitabha in gold color that can be seen from miles away.

After the monastery tour, you will move down the hill to the center of the city and stroll around Pier-2 Art Center, which was once an abandoned pier warehouse site. After revamping by a group of persistent artist, today this area is reborn as vibrant neighborhood hub for arts and culture.

Eluanpi Lighthouse was built during the Qing Dynasty. It was listed as one of the Eight Views of Taiwan during the period under Japanese rule.

Day 3: Kaohsiung - Tainan - Taipei

After breakfast in the hotel, you will head for the “Capital City” – Tainan. Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan, today we will go on a historic tour and visit the most famous sites.
The first stop is Fort Provintia, which was listed as a national historic monument in 1983. The fortress was originally constructed by the Dutch in 1653 then destroyed and rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty and the period under Japanese rule.

Fort Zeelandia was built by the Dutch East India Company during their 38-year rule of the western part of Taiwan. The original fortress was nearly destroyed by the British army during the 19th century then reconstructed by the Japanese people.

Near Fort Zeelandia is the famous Anping Tree House, which used to be the warehouse of the former Tait & Co. Merchant House. After being abandoned for many years, the building was taken over by banyan trees; the aerial roots reach the structures deeply and become a part of the building.

Stop At: Koxinga Shrine, No. 152, Kaishan Rd., West Central Dist, West Central District, Tainan Taiwan
Koxinga Shrine was built in 1662 during the Ming Dynasty in the memory of achievement of Cheng Cheng Kung. It is also the only Fujianese style shrine in Taiwan.
After a full day sightseeing in Tainan, you will head back to Taipei by the high-speed train. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting at the train station and take you back to your hotel.
