A group of fellow friends and travelers that will be embarking on a 6 day journey through southern Peru, beginning in Lima and ending in Cusco – And having an epic time while doing so!

  • Day 1: Day 1 : Arrival in Lima

    Pass By: Lima, Lima, Lima Region
    Upon arrival at Lima airport, the representative of Peru Wayna Picchu will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Miraflores district. Arriving mid-day at your hotel, you now have the rest of the day to begin your exploration of the city

    Day 2: Arrival in Cusco

    Pass By: Cusco, Cusco, Cusco Region
    • Peru Wayna Picchu will schedule a private transfer to take you from your hotel to the airport for your flight (Not Included) to Cusco
    • Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, a Peru Wayna Picchu representative will meet you for the drive to the historic center. On the way to your hotel, you will see examples of Spanish colonial architecture constructed upon the remains of ancient Inca palaces and temples.
    • Arriving mid-day at your hotel, you now have the rest of the day to begin your exploration of the city. Since Cusco is located at 11,300 feet in elevation, during this first afternoon in the city you may want to take it easy so that you can begin acclimatizing to the altitude. Nevertheless, this is a good chance to wander about the main square, with its many cafes and stores, or even visit a museum. There are also many options for casual and/or fine dining.

    Day 3: Sacred Valley Tour

    Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
    At 7:30am your PWP mountain guide and our driver will pick up you from your hotel. The first stop of the day, about 45 minutes into the trip, will be at Chincero to learn about Inca traditional weaving and coloring practices. After a warm cup of coca tea, we explore their shopping areas before heading to our next location of Moray. In Moray, we have about 30 to 45 minutes to enjoy the views and learn about the reason for this odd shaped landscape. The Incas were agricultural masterminds! After Moray, we take a short drive to Maras, a salt mine that has been in use for over 500 years. Here, we explore the area for about 30 – 45minutes before making our way back to the van to transport us to Ollantaytambo, the Inca Citadel.
    At the Inca Citadel, we learn about the Inca building techniques and methods of transporting massive rocks that weighed tons. Once we finish the tour of the citadel, we break for a late lunch before boarding the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes and finally your hotel.

    Day 4: Machu Picchu Tour

    Stop At: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
    • Breakfast at the hotel in Sacred Valley will then take the train to Machu Picchu. The train journey of one hour and a half or two hours is one of the best in the world
    • Upon arrival at the village of Aguas Calientes, at the base of Machu Picchu, our staff awaits you at the train station and will escort you to the bus station for a 30-minute ride to the citadel, which is surrounded by a Cloud forest in which we find Orchids and hummingbirds.
    • Continuing, you will meet with your expert English or Spanish speaking guide for a 2 hour tour of the most important places of Machu Picchu
    • Ending their visit with the guide, they can explore more of the ruins on their own and to take several unforgettable photos of the place.
    • Ending our afternoon visit, we will take a comfortable train back to Sacred Valley and then be transferred to your hotel in Cusco to spend the night

    Day 5: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Tour

    Stop At: Agencia Vinicunca, Montaña Arcoiris, 08002, Urb Mateo Pumacahua 542 Wanchaq, Interior Oficina A2, Cusco 08002, Peru
    Route to Rainbow Mountain! Your PWP mountain guide will pick you up at your hotel between the hours of 3:30am and 4:00am, for a 3 hour trip via van to the start of the trail. Upong arriving, you will be served local Peruvian breakfast prepared by our local chef to get your energy up for our our day ahead!
    Our day will consist of a 2.5 hour hike and is a distance of 6 kilometers (3.7 miles). roughout your journey you will pass through a vibrant green valley with the snow capped peak of Ausangate towering in the distance. You will see hundreds of roaming alpaca, and have the chance to truly see how Quechua people live. As you get closer to the Rainbow Mountain you will begin to see the first signs of the colored minerals that formed the painted hills. Your guide will explain what makes up the existence of the Rainbow Mountain and how it was formed, and nally with one last push you will hike up to a vantage point that gives you a 360 degree view of the beautiful landscape that makes up the sacred land.
    We will have snacks on top and take relaxing break to soak up the vistas, where you can enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. At this time you can also enjoy some coca tea that the locals prepare for visitors. A er about an hour you will embark for your hike back to the trailhead (1.5 hours), where you will have a gourmet lunch prepared by our chef in a traditional mud-house and depart back to Cusco. Arriving in Cusco around 4:30pm.
