  • Day 1: BY CAR TO THE CLOUD FOREST OF SAN PEDRO

    Stop At: Manu National Park, Manu National Park, Madre de Dios Region
    We leave Cusco early in the morning in one of our vehicles. We will pass through interesting valleys and picturesque communities. We will visit pre Incan tombs and then we will stop in Paucartambo, a beautiful colonial town. Here we will visit a very interesting museum. We will have a packed lunch en route. We continue to the cloud forest, an area rich with endemic species like the Spectacled Bear, the Cock of The Rock, a variety of orchids, bromeliads and ferns etc. Take in the beautiful nature as we make our way to San Pedro Lodge where we will spend our first night in our comfortable accommodation.

    Stop At: Chullpas de Ninamarca, Km 83 Cusco - Paucartambo, Paucartambo Peru
    They are funerary contexts, of the Lupaca culture, who believed in life after death, which is why they built small hut-type constructions here but made of stone with mud mortar, and oriented towards the sunset.
    Duration: 20 minutes

    Stop At: Paucartambo, Paucartambo, Cusco Region
    It is a town that dates from the colonial era, the most striking are its houses with celestial doors and balconies, and its lime and stone bridge, with more than 500 years on the Mapacho river.

    Stop At: Posada San Pedro Lodge, Provincia de, Paucartambo 08145, Peru
    In this sector that is next to the manu road, there is the fabulous landscape of the cloud forest, where you can see the rooster of the rocks, a red and white bird, in fact it is the national bird of Peru. You can also see quetzales, families of capuchin monkeys, woolly monkeys, and many varieties of orchids and butterflies.

    Stop At: Paraiso Pilcopata Inn, 08145, Peru
    This will be our first lodge where we will spend the night, it is located in the town of Pilcopata in the Amazon rainforest of Cusco, it has a warm and quite humid climate. If you wish, you can take a walk around the city where you can enjoy a cold beer.

    Day 2: TOUR BY MOTOR BOAT AND WALK IN THE JUNGLE

    Stop At: Manu National Park, Manu National Park, Madre de Dios Region
    Very early we will go in search of the Cock of the Rock, the National bird of Peru, that has a very unique courtship dance. After breakfast we will continue to the small town of Pilcopata, then to the Port of Atalaya, which is located on the shores of the Madre de Dios River (700 m). Here we will take a boat to our Private Reserve . From the boat we will be able to see an enormous diversity of bird species such as Herons, vultures and cormorants etc. We will walk along the interesting trails that are in the transistion zone between high and low jungle and your guide will point out and explain the interesting diversity of wild life that surrounds you. We will have the chance for a night walk to catch a glimpse of insects and amphibians. We overnight in our Lodge.

    Stop At: ATALAYA Kosñipata Paucartambo Cusco, 08145, Peru
    It is a river port from where motor boats are taken that will take us to our second lodge. During the tour you will enjoy the beauty of the Amazon forest and its mighty rivers.

    Stop At: Manu Learning Centre, 17700, Peru
    For two days you will spend the night in this lodge, which is inside the jungle. Surrounded by vegetation and wild animals, raids are made during the day and night to observe mammals, birds, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, insects, etc.

    Day 3: MACAW CLAY LICKS AND THE MACHU WASI LAKE

    Stop At: Manu National Park, Manu National Park, Madre de Dios Region
    During the morning walk, the guide will point out and explain the interesting variety of wildlife around you. We board our boat to cross the river and follow a trail for 30 minutes and observe the interesting flora such as the sensitive plants, heliconias, fruit, etc. We walk until we reach lake Machu wasi where we paddle rafts to observe the birds like the primitive Hoatzin, alligators, monkeys and capybaras with luck. We will have a night walk around our lodge to catch a glimpse of a variety of insects and amphibians.

    Stop At: Manu Learning Centre, 17700, Peru
    For two days you will spend the night in this lodge, which is inside the jungle. Surrounded by vegetation and wild animals, raids are made during the day and night to observe mammals, birds, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, insects, etc.

    Stop At: Machuhuassy Lagoon, 17700, Peru
    It is an Amazonian ecosystem where you can observe birds, monkeys, reptiles, alligators and otters.

    Day 4: RETURN TO CUSCO

    Stop At: Manu National Park, Manu National Park, Madre de Dios Region
    Very early we board our boat and make our way to Collpa, a clay wall by the river where a variety of parrots such as the blue headed parrot, the White eyed parakeet, possibly the Maracana Macaw and others come every morning to subsitute their diet with minerals and salts. After this activity we return to the Lodge for breakfast. After we pack up and take our boat back to Atalaya Port, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We have lunch en route to Cusco and arrive early evening.
