The intricate walls with many protruding windows (bay windows) and turrets were erected by the Teutonic knights in 1377 on a cliff - in view of a wooded valley and on the surrounding mountains Bucegi which served for all military purposes. The romantically situated castle, residence of the Romanian queen Maria in the period of the two wars, is today a museum also known as Dracula's Castle. Then the journey continues towards Rasnov. The path in the heart of Transylvania takes us to the fortified citadel of Râsnov: this Saxon village at a distance of 16 km from Brasov. The Teutonic Knights built, in 1215, the citadel of Râsnov and it seems that its name derives from the Slavic word žrunovy, which means village (or valley) of the mill. The citadel is stupendous only when viewed from a distance while from the same it is possible to enjoy a vast panorama of the valley and the mountains. Continue with Harman. The 12th century fortified church of Harman is a Roman basilica with Gothic elements. The left towers, the chapels and the moat are still visible today. Inside there are paintings dated to the 13th century. The outer walls are oval-shaped, similar to those of the nearby Evangelical church of Prejmer, and 12 meters high surmounted by seven defense towers, some of which have slits from which they poured boiling pitch on the attackers. Over the centuries, Harman has suffered severe damage and destruction by the armies of the various invaders (Tartars, Moldavians, Turks, Muntenes, Austrians and Sicels) but is currently restored and ready to welcome the thousands of tourists who visit it every year. Continuing along the same road we will find the village of Prejmer. Here too there is a fortified church, whose architecture recalls the model of the churches of the Rhineland, belonging to the world heritage by UNESCO presents imposing walls built to defend against the attacks of the Turks. Prejmer is considered to be the best preserved church-fortress among those of Eastern Europe. Inside the walls there is an imposing church dedicated to the "Holy Cross" with cells, refectories and galleries where the entire community stayed and a museum bearing witness to the times in which the locals lived there.

Tour of the city of Brasov. In the historic center we will visit the Black Church (external visit only). The Black Church occupies an important place among the historical and artistic monuments of our country. From an architectural point of view, the church dominates the medieval center of the city of Brasov. However, the Black Church is still considered the largest gothic-style religious building in southeastern Europe, measuring 89 meters long and 38 meters wide. The church choir, supported by external buttresses, decorated with niches housing the statues of saints, is one of the few examples of this type in Transylvania. The collection of oriental carpets of the Black Church is the richest of its kind in Romania. The organ falls into the category of organs from the Baroque period and has survived almost unchanged until today. The gigantic city walls make the city of Brasov one of the most fortified medieval cities in Transylvania. Now it is a modern city that preserves the traces of the past: the Bastion of Tailors, the White Tower, the Black Tower, the Ecaterina Door in Gothic style and the Schei Gate in Baroque style, the Town Hall, the Strada della Corda and the small church orthodox hidden in the historic center.
