Day 1: Welcome to Athens

Stop At: Plaka, Athens 10556 Greece
On arrival you will be met by our assistant and transfer to your hotel. Detailed information will be presented to you about all art and music events taking place in Athens during your stay, also a list of non touristic restaurants for the best taste of Athens. Optionaly evening pick up from hotel and our representative will meet and transfer to selected restaurant for a first taste of Greek cuisine ( seafood ). Return to hotel and overnight.

Day 2: Take a Walk to Ancient History

Stop At: Acropolis, via Dionysiou Areopagitou str., Athens 105 58 Greece
The best way to see Athens is a walking tour. You can feel the vibes, explore every sense and meet the locals! We’ll start the day by walking to the Acropolis hill where you’ll enjoy a guided tour to Parthenon, the Erectheion & the surrounding monuments. We’ll then descend to Acropolis museum, in order to have a tour to its fascinating exhibitions. Our exploration will continue on by crossing Andrianou Street, the most distinctive street of Plaka neighborhood, the imposing Roman Agora the vivid life of Monastiraki Square and the surrounding streets of Athens Central Market with Little shops selling herbs, delicacies, nuts, household items & many more. We keep walking to Syntagma Square and take some time to watch the valiant Evzones in front of the building of the Greek Parliament. Next to the lush green oasis of the National Gardens and the extraordinary Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place. We continue for a little while, we’ll reach the Zappeion Hall -an impressive neoclassical building- and afterwards we’ll feel amazed by the size of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian Arch. Our walk will come to an end in front of the Lycicrates monument in Plaka. Evening return to hotel

Day 3: A Taste of Athens

Stop At: Central Market Athens, Monastiraki Greece
Get ready to bite into a sweet, cream filled, crunchy filo layered pie called bougatsa, fork into perfectly fried doughnut balls drenched in honey called loukoumades, and savor a satisfying meld of flavors from warm pita bread filled with seasoned grilled meat, fresh veggies and traditional sauce called gyros. In between, you’ll taste Feta cheese, Greek olives, and sip Greek wines. This neighborhood walk revolves around sampling Greece’s traditional food. Athens Central Market and More! Our guide will lead you through the bustling Athens Central Market, a historic food market unlike any other in Europe. Here, colorful and fragrant food stalls set the stage among animated food sellers, fishmongers and butchers whelping for sales as locals bargain them down. Experience the Tastes of Greece ! You’ll also walk the city’s quaint spice street, browse through mom-and-pop specialty shops selling local wine, olive oil, cheese or olives, and sample what’s behind the glass counters at family-run delicatessens. The aromas of fresh, out-of-the-oven savory pies, the tempting displays of Greek pastries and sips of Greece’s strong and tasteful spirits round out the food tour. Discover Athenian Food Culture! In between each bite, you’ll gain insight into Greece’s fascinating food culture, the evolution of the country’s cuisine and the healthy nature of locally produced, organic ingredients. Rest of the day at leisure and our guide will propose various art events for the evening.

Day 4: Pictures and memories for home

Stop At: Athens, Athens, Attica
You will be met by our assistant at your hotel and transferred to the airport by our for your departure flight. Athens is still so much more than all these ancient treasures. If you pick the right time of year for your Athens short break or weekend break, you can take a tram or taxi to the beach and enjoy the full benefit of mild early spring or late autumn weather to help you really relax at the end of a hectic week. If shopping is your idea of a weekend break ,make sure not to miss Kolonaki area or Ermou Str. and find time to visit the Monastiraki Flea market or Evripidou Str. spice market. Unforgettable evenings on an Athens short break are yours to enjoy in the areas around the Plaka, but be sure to also check out the fashionable Gazi or Kolonaki districts for a more cosmopolitan experience.
