Auschwitz tour from Krakow

Visit the former Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, now turned into a UNESCO World Heritage Sites-listed museum. During your approximately 7-hours trip from Krakow, you will have an opportunity to discover the history of World War II and the Holocaust in Poland. A local, professional guide will provide you with all valuable facts in the camp sites and on your way to Auschwitz, you will have a chance to prepare yourself to the visit with a short documentary film "The liberation of Auschwitz” screened in your shared car.

On your visit to Auschwitz you are able to witness horrors of Auchwitz and enter prisoners cells, gas chambers, execution spots, workshops, wooden barraks and much more. The tour is divided into two separate parts. First - Auschwitz I where the guide will take you for a 2h walk through the camp. Visit the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz and Birkenau on this 7-hour trip from Krakow. By June 1940, Jews and over 700 political criminals had been sent to Auschwitz and the atrocities had begun.

Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews.

Before Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated in January 1945, the SS attempted to blow up the camp and destroy the documentation. They were only partially successful, and the Polish government decided to restore the site as a memorial to the victims.
