Stop At: Shwesandaw Pagoda, Bagan Myanmar
Visit Shwesandaw which was built by King Anawrahta in 825 AD. Then, continue to Shwezigon, a huge gilded temple built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century.

Ananda temple, a masterpiece of Mon-style architecture with four huge standing Buddha’s and an adjacent brick monastery with well-preserved 18th century murals is visited later.

Stop At: Nyaung Hla Market xx, Myanmar (Burma)
visit Nyaung Hla village (30 minutes’ drive), which is the roost location for the giant flying fox (Pteropus giganteus). The spectacular colony is home to some 3500 individuals, which live in vast rain trees located in the heart of the village and adjacent to the river. Due to seasonal variations, there are more bats in the rainy season. The colony started in 1998 and so far, is increasing in numbers. We ask you to observe those bats but please never disturb them by clapping or making loud noises. They are a natural treasure for the village and for Myanmar.

Stop At: Lawka Nandar Park, Nyaung-U, Myanmar (Burma)
From the village, return to Bagan. Visit Lawkananda Wildlife Sanctuary in which teak trees, non-native species to this dry zone area, have been planted. It was established in 1997 and covers an area of 47sqm. The sanctuary is home to captive breeding populations of the Burmese star tortoise, Eld’s deer and other rare species.

After visiting the park, take a walk to nearby Lawkananda pagoda built by King Anawrahta in 1059 AD and located on the bank of the Ayeyarwady river. The sunset across the river and gilded stupa will create a marvelous picture.
