Stop At: BenCab Museum, Km 6 Asin Road, Tuba, Luzon Philippines

BenCab stands for Benedicto Cabrera. Hailed as a master of contemporary Philippine art, BenCab, now 72 years old, has been painting for almost 50 years. In 2006, he was conferred the Order of National Artist for Visual Arts in Malacañang Palace by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He’s also said to be the best-selling painter of his generation of Filipino artists.

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tam-Awan Village, 366-C Tacay Rd. Pinsao Proper, Baguio, Luzon 2600 Philippines

Tam-awan Village in Pinsao Proper, Baguio City uniquely blends indigenous aesthetics and exquisite Cordilleran craftsmanship with an artist’s concept for a village adapting to Baguio setting.

Chanum Foundation, Inc., founded in 1998, began to reconstruct Ifugao houses in Baguio with the view of making a model village accessible to people who have not had the chance to travel to the Cordillera interior. On a land near an abundant spring, the foundation started out with three knocked-down huts transported from Bangaan, Ifugao. Tam-awan village now has seven Ifugao huts and two Kalinga houses. Using the original materials and adding only new cogon roofs, traditional artisans reconstructed the houses and laid them out resembling the design of a traditional Cordillera Village

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Emilio F. Aguinaldo Museum, Happy Glen Loop Rd, Baguio, Luzon Philippines

In 1985, a daughter of revolutionary hero Emilio Aguinaldo built a museum in the summer capital to house what the family claims is the original Philippine flag that was unfurled in 1898 in Kawit, Cavite, which she had found tucked under her father’s death bed.

Twenty-six years later, the grandchildren of Cristina Aguinaldo-Suntay have decided to convert the facility, located on Happy Glen Loop here, into an interactive museum that is now dedicated to revolutionaries of various eras who helped bring about true independence for the country.

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Baguio Museum, DOT-PTA Complex, Governor Pack Rd, Baguio, Luzon Philippines

Baguio Museum stands for, upholds, and embodies the cultural and historical heritage of Baguio City. Inspired by Ifugao architecture, the museum is made of stone and wood featuring a striking pyramid roof and two huge concrete poles at the stair entrance that resembles a traditional Ifugao home with an elevated floor supported by posts.

This time-honored museum was built in 1975 at the corner of Governor Pack Road and Harrison Road. It was hit by a major earthquake in 1990 but was rebuilt after a decade to continue its purpose.
