  • Day 1: Depart from Kampala – arrive at Kibale National Park

    Stop At: Kibale National Park, Kibale National Park, Western Region
    Your classical primate safari tour will begin with your guide picking you from the Airport. After a briefing on how your primate safari excursion will go, you will set off for Uganda’s prized Kibale Forest National Park – a habitat to 13 primate species Including the endangered chimpanzees. Kibale Forest National Park harbours the largest population of primates as compared to all the other parks in Uganda.

    Enroute to Kibale National Park, you will make a brief stop at the enchanting ‘Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru’ caves in Fortportal. The ‘Batooro’ one of the major tribes in the Western Uganda have a very intriguing tale about the formation of the caves which you will be thrilled to hear. A visit to the 3 surrounding explosion crater lakes will make your safari tour to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa a memorable one. You will arrive at Kibale Forest National Park later in the evening where you will check in at your safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk in Kibale National Park

    Stop At: Kibale National Park, Kibale National Park, Western Region
    After having your breakfast in the early morning, you will be driven to the Kibale National Park headquarters where you will receive instructions for a successful chimpanzee trekking experience. Kibale National Park has the largest number of chimpanzees and over the year chimpanzee habituation has been a major highlight in the park.

    You set out track the habituated chimpanzee families in the company of an experienced guide. Chimpanzee trekking normally takes 3 hours or more and a final encounter with the sought-after creatures is gratifying. You will be able to meet one of the chimpanzee families and you will be able to watch them feed, play, and interact with each other.

    Day 3: Depart from Kibale – pass through Queen Elizabeth – arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

    Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Buhoma Uganda
    You will depart from Kibale National Park after having breakfast and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – one of the favorite Uganda tour destinations for safari lovers. Uganda is renowned for harboring close to half of the world’s population of the endangered mountain gorillas with most of the population of these invaluable species living in Bwindi.

    On your way to Bwindi, you will pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha region which is famous for being a habitat for the tree-climbing lions. While passing through Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will encounter more mammal and primate species besides the fascinating lions.

    You will later arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the afternoon, you will have lunch and set out on a community – cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmy people. The Batwa people were the first to inhabit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and they co-existed with the mountain gorillas and other primate and mammal species.

    Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Buhoma Uganda
    You will wake up very early in the morning, have your breakfast and go to the headquarters of Uganda’s formidable Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will have a briefing before embarking on one of the gorilla trails in pursuit of the endangered primate species. Tracking the habituated gorilla families may take between 3 - 8 hours, the trekking maybe exerting but so rewarding. It is exhilarating to finally stand face to face with the potent yet humble giants and watch them play, feed, shout and mingle with each other.

    While trekking the mountain gorillas, you will also see other primate species Including; De Brazza monkeys, chimpanzees, pottos, spectacled galago, Demidoff’s galago, L’Hoest’s monkey, black-and-white colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys and Red-tailed monkeys.

    Day 5: Return to Kampala - Uganda's Capital
