Cistercian Route
On this route the traveler can go back in time and return to medieval times by following the paths that the monks of Cistercian tore through these places.
The Varosa Valley was a focal point in the expansion of the Cistercian Order, which, focusing on agriculture and particularly wine, played a prominent role in the neighboring region of the Douro.
The rich heritage built of Romanesque design, as well as the precious works of art it contains, provide moments of pure delight in the face of its richness and detail.
