    Saqsayhuaman

    Quechua name means satisfied falcon, This fort was dedicated to safeguarding the city of Cusco from the attacks of the invaders from the east. It is an example of Inca military architecture built with large granite blocks up to 5 meters high and 350 tons, consisting of three large terraces which overlap and bordered by huge walls of rock up to 300 mtrs long and because of its proximity to the city served as a quarry for certain constructions of Cusco Colonial.

    Qenqo y Pucapucara

    Qenqo are a vast rocky promontory carved of holes, steps and gutters, probably to deposit the chicha (corn drink) consumed in Inca rituals.

    Pucapucara is another example of military architecture near Qenqo, this fortress is composed of great walls, terraces and stairways and was part of the defensive set of Cusco and the Inca empire.

    Tambomachay

    known by the name Inca Bath, was an Inca ceremonial center dedicated to the worship of water and rest the monarch of the empire, it has a special hydraulic system with a series of aqueducts, canals and cascades carved in rock intended to convey water from spring water from a nearby.
