  • Day 1: Beach Party at Tamarindo

    Stop At: Tamarindo, Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste
    Our tour to Costa Rica starts in Tamarindo. This beach village is a popular destination for couples and families looking for a good time. Tamarindo is the epitome of everything Costa Rica prides itself on. Let's head to the beach, where there is likely to be a gathering/party of some sort. On a side note, Tamarindo is also home to leatherback turtles.

    Day 2: Sunset Catamaran Cruise with an Open Bar, Snorkeling & Appetizers as well as Visiting Fine Beaches

    Stop At: Playa Flamingo, Playa Flamingo, Province of Guanacaste
    We go on an excursion today. Passing by the beaches in Brasilito and then Potrero, we stop at Flamingo beach so we can go swimming. Afterwards, we do a cruise into the bay. We are provided with snorkeling gear, local appetizers and access to an open bar. Enjoy the sunset while “sipping on some bubbly.”

    Day 3: Horseback Riding & a Night Tour in a Cloud Forest Reserve

    Stop At: Monteverde, Monteverde, Province of Puntarenas
    The morning starts with a 25-minute drive to a ranch. There we go on a 2-hour horseback riding tour along the beach. After lunch, we relocate to Monteverde via a 4-hour drive. In the evening, we are taken via a 20-minute drive into the cloud forest reserve. There we are provided with a 2-hour guided night tour.

    Day 4: Zip-Lining & Bathing in Natural Hot Springs

    Stop At: La Fortuna, La Fortuna, La Fortuna de San Carlos, Arenal Volcano National Park, Province of Alajuela
    The day starts with being taken back into the cloud forest reserve. There we go on a 2-hour zip-lining tour. After lunch, we relocate to La Fortuna. Getting there takes a combination of land and water transportation. The total duration is about 3.5 hours. During the evening, we recommend you bathe in one of the many natural hot springs throughout town. The most popular hot spring is found in the resort of Tabacón. However, there are others which are just as nice but much more affordable. Consider a place called Ecotermales Fortuna. Note that most resorts with hot springs close around 10:00pm.

    Day 5: Walking Over Hanging Bridges, Seeing Arenal Volcano & Swimming Under a Waterfall

    Stop At: Arenal Hanging Bridges, Arenal Volcano National Park 21007 Costa Rica
    Today we are taken on a tour to the nearby surroundings. First is Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, which features cool-looking bridges hanging in the tropical rain forest. Next is La Fortuna Waterfall, where we can go swimming. Following the waterfall is lunch, which is included on today’s tour. Lastly for today is Arenal Volcano National Park. It offers a nice hike amid tropical scenery. The volcano measures at least 1,633 meters (5,358 feet) high and is estimated to be less than 7,500 years old.

    Day 6: The Intimidating Tenorio Volcano National Park

    Stop At: Tenorio Volcano National Park, Tenorio Volcano National Park, Province of Guanacaste
    We go on a daytrip today. We are taken on a tour to Tenorio Volcano National Park via a 1.5-hour drive. The jewel of this national park is its volcano, from which it receives its name. Tenorio Volcano consists of 4 volcanic peaks and 2 craters. Thermal springs and small geysers dot the area, as do rivers, waterfalls and lagoons. The upper area of the park is dominated by primary cloud forest, while the lower regions are carpeted with rain forest. The summit can be reached via the Lago Las Dantas Trail, which winds up the volcano and passes through forested terrain before eventually reaching the peak. From the park’s entrance, it takes about an hour to hike up to the peak/main viewpoint. Lunch is included on today’s tour.

    Day 7: Canyoning in the “Lost Canyon” & Crawling Inside Creepy-Looking Caves

    Stop At: Venado Caves, Arenal Volcano National Park Costa Rica
    We go on another daytrip today. We are taken on a tour to the Lost Canyon via a 30-minute drive. There we go on a 2-hour canyoning tour. Lunch is included on today’s tour, around 10:30am. Later on, we are taken via a 45-minute drive to Venado Caves. The guided tour there takes about 2 hours.

    Day 8: Taking a Surf Class & Enjoying Costa Rica's Most Famous Beach Area

    Stop At: Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio, Province of Puntarenas
    We relocate to Manuel Antonio National Park via a 5.5-hour drive. This park receives almost 150,000 visitors annually. In 2011, Manuel Antonio was listed by Forbes among the world’s 12 most beautiful national parks. Around midday, we take a surf class.

    Day 9: Finding Wildlife While in the Country's Most Frequented Park

    Stop At: Manuel Antonio National Park, Manuel Antonio Costa Rica
    The day starts with a 2.5-hour tour inside Manuel Antonio National Park. Extra time is given so we can go swimming. This park has impressive landscapes and several coves with many white sand beaches and lush foliage amidst great mountains and forests. After lunch, we relocate to San Jose via a 4-hour drive.

    Day 10: The Nation's Most Stunning Volcano & a Coffee Plantation Tour

    Stop At: Poas Volcano National Park, Poas Volcano National Park, Province of Alajuela
    We go on a daytrip today. We are first taken via a 1-hour drive to Doka Estate. There we are provided with breakfast followed by a 2-hour guided tour of a coffee plantation. Next is a visit via a 1.5-hour drive to Poás Volcano National Park. There we are provided with a 30-minute guided tour. Please note that the Poás Volcano National Park is often closed due to eruptions. If this is the case during your visit, then this park would need to be removed from today’s itinerary. Lastly is a visit via a 45-minute drive to La Paz Waterfall. There we are provided with lunch as well as a 1.5-hour guided tour.

    Day 11: Our Tour Ends This Morning
