Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Draa Valley – Mhamid

Desert tours from Marrakech : Departing early in the morning from your riad/hotel in Marrakech, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains over the Tizin’Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, offering spectacular panoramic views of mountains, valleys and colorful Berber villages.

Travelling southwards,we stop on the way to visite the kasbahs of Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou. With its UNESCO listed spectacular Kasbah, Ait Benhaddou is a famous site for Hollywood movies shooting such as Gladiator. The trip continues through the palm-lined Draa valley with a stop in Zagora for a tea break before heading towards the desert of Mhamid, where you can spend the night in our guest house / Camp in M’hamd.

Day 2: Mhamid - (Sacred Oasis) - Erg Chigaga

Stop At: Atmospher Erg Chigaga, M'Hamid El Ghizlane, M'Hamid Morocco
After a nice breakfast you do 2 hours camel ride in the midst of the desert. Around 10:30 you are picked up there from the 4×4 and you will travel through a beautiful desert landscape to Oasis (holy oasis) for lunch break. The Oasis Sacrée consists of a small group of palm trees around a source in the midst of the desert, whith running water the whole year. The nomads come with their herds for soaking. At 16 o’clock departure. After further 15 km we reach the dunes of Chegaga. This largest group of dunes of the region reaches a height of 300 m on a length of 40 km. We spend the night directly in nomad tents at the dunes after new year eve party,dinner with entertainment.

A night that comes alive to the rhythms and chants of the drums, castanets and guitars played by nomads; Sahara traditional music. Inspired by the African spirit of dance combined with Arabic rhythm …

In the core of the Nomads campsite we will have a big fire, where we gather to share food, laughter, celebration and friendship.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga - Foum Zguid - Tasnznakht - Marrakech

Pass By: Maison d'hotes Irocha, N9, Tisseldeï, Morocco
Admire the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast and a hearty breakfast at the camp. We will leave the camp in our 4×4 Jeep via the old Paris-Dakar road, cross the dry Iriqui Lake and finally reach Foum Zguid. Lunch will be served in the berber village of Taznakht. We will retourn back to Marrakech afternoon where our driver will drop you off at your accomodation.
