Once there, take an impressive 6-km hike to the top of the volcano enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. Hikers who wanna climb one of Mexico's "higher" volcanoes often use this place for training & acclimatization. On sunny weekends Mexican families hike there with their children and grandparents, mountain bikers the park's dirt roads, and sport-fanatics make it all the way up running. The trail up is quite easy to follow, has no dangerous parts, and needs no special equipment.

After hiking La Malinche, we will continue our tour in Tlaxcala - a calm capital of the smallest same-named Mexican state. On our way there, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan that is notable for its white-plaster facade and impressive Baroque interior. It was in 1541 when the Virgin miraculously appeared to Saint Juan Diego and requested to build her a temple in this place. Currently, it is one of the most important Marian pilgrimage centers in Mexico.

Once in Tlaxcala, we will explore its compact colonial center seeing attractive squares, churches, lively shopping arcades, art galleries & museums. Our city tour will include visiting an impressive 16th-century Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption. It is especially famous for its well-preserved Mudejar-style interior, the last of its kind in the American continent. Another remarkable place that we will get acquainted with is the Regional Museum of Tlaxcala. Housed in a former convent it displays religious paintings and a rich collection of pre-Columbian artifacts.
After a full day of experiences & adventures, return to our vehicle and relax on the way back to Mexico City.

TOUR DURATION & CUSTOMIZATIONThe standard duration of the tour, as advertised in its description, is calculated from the moment of pickup till dropoff. At the same time, the tour is customizable which means the time you spend in each destination can be adjusted to your needs: e.g. if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) still fits total duration of the tour and (2) doesn't involve a change of the route (is on our way). In this case, we can shorten the stay at a particular destination included in the program so that you have time to visit the place you are interested in.
