Stop At: Castelo dos Mouros, Estrada da Pena Parque de Monserrate, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal

The Moorish Castle is a ruined castle nestled among the lush forests of the Sintra Mountains and is a popular tourist attraction of the land. The Moorish Castle was built during the 19th century by the North African Moors to guard the town of Sintra, but was abandoned after the Christian conquest in Portugal. The castle was restored in the 19th century. XIX by King Fernando II, who transformed it into a romantic ruins and one of the main features of the gardens of the Pena Palace. The castle retains the charm of an ancient ruin, with a dense forest surrounding the ancient walls offering spectacular views of the Sintra region. Stop At: Boca do Inferno, Northern section of Cascais, Cascais 2750-642 Portugal

One of the most famous visit points of Cascais is Boca do Inferno, a unique formation in the rocks by the ocean. It is believed that formerly this place was a cave that with time and the force of the sea eventually gave way and gave rise to the scenery as it is known today. Today Boca do Inferno is an open pit with a kind of arch through which sea water enters. On days of rough seas you can hear the sound of water striking the rocks, a noise so unique that it is analogous to the name of the place. Upon reaching Boca do Inferno it is possible to contemplate the beauty of the place from above, however there is also a path that leads to the other side of the “arch” of the cavity, through which the water enters. This place is already very close to the water and you can enjoy the view of the entire rocky coast.
