  • Day 1: High Tatras mountains

    Pass By: High Tatras, 062 01 Vysoké Tatry, Slovakia
    In the morning, we’ll head straight into the High Tatras mountains. This oldest national park in Slovakia was named the best place to visit in Europe in 2019. Here you could spot the brown bear – now a rare creature in Europe. But not only that – you can often see chamois on your trek.
    We’ll take a easy hikes, also go in a cable car, and take in breathtaking views, waterfalls and mountain lakes; ideal for families.

    The High Tatras have more than 600 km in marked hiking trails.
    This national park is the first and oldest, founded in Slovakia in 1949. It is situated in the north of Slovakia, and is shared with Poland. Many people call these Carpathian mountains the “smallest alpine mountains in Europe”. The highest peak in Slovakia is Gerlachovský štít (2,655m).

    The High Tatras are truly unique, as you can enjoy magical silence in the valleys as well as maximum relaxation among waterfalls, alpine meadows, and more than 100 lakes.

    Stop At: Zdiar, Zdiar, Presov Region
    On the first day, we’ll visit the Eastern Tatras, with its especially lovely village Ždiar. See the traditional wooden houses, which are typical for this region, as well as a host of spectacular views. This is one of the most popular places in the Tatras National Park, and the view of the mountains here is quite unique.

    Stop At: Strbske Pleso, Strbske Pleso, Presov Region
    Late in the afternoon we’ll take a walk around the well-known and picturesque mountain lake Strbske pleso. Then we’ll drive off, passing right by the whole High Tatras National Park.

    Day 2: Huge Waterfall- Starý Smokovec – Hrebienok – Reinerova Hut – Obrovský Vodopád

    Stop At: Stary Smokovec, Stary Smokovec, Presov Region
    The following morning we’ll go for a hike to the so-called Huge Waterfall. The route takes us via Starý Smokovec – Hrebienok – Reinerova Hut – Obrovský Vodopád (the waterfall) – Zamkovského Hut and back. This is an easy walk, suitable also for less experienced hikers. We take a cableway up to Hrebienok, and from there we embark on hiking trails to Reinerova Hut and Zamkovského Hut.

    Stop At: Vodopady Studeneho Potoka, 059 60 Vysoke Tatry, Slovensko, Vysoke Tatry 05960 Slovakia
    On the way back, we’ll stop by the waterfalls called Vodopády Studeného potoka (Coldstream Waterfalls).

    Difficulty level: easy, suitable also for the families with children.

    We’ll visit famous Tatra villages and lovely hiking trails with breathtaking views.
    On our tour, we’ll see also some castles, go through two national parks, go on a leisurely hike, sample Slovak cuisine, and enjoy breathtaking views!
