Day 1: Out of the City and Into the World of Samurai
Stop At: Chokeiji Temple, 815 Shindachiichiba, Sennan 590-0504 Osaka Prefecture
Your grand experience beings at 9:30am, when you will be greeted in Sennan City, at Izumi Sunagawa Station. First on the agenda is a trip to our samurai master's temple, Chokeiji, where we will meet with the monastery's head monk. Following this, we head to the samurai wing of the monastery, don samurai clothing and really start getting in the mood for training. At this point, you will not only have the opportunity to wear authentic samurai apparel, but also gain a thorough understanding of the production and purpose of each item the samurai wore.

Visit a late Edo Period (first half of the 19th century) village for katana (Japanese sword) training, udon (Japanese thick wheat flour noodles) making and eating, and Zen practice.
Duration: 3 hours

• Dinner: Typical Japanese monastery food.
Accommodation included: Lodging provided at the temple where many of the activities take place.
Day 2: Samurai Precision and Clarity
Stop At: Chokeiji Temple, 815 Shindachiichiba, Sennan 590-0504 Osaka Prefecture
Day 2 starts with great anticipation and a 5:30am jump start on clarity and excellence. After some time to get ready, you’ll attend 6am morning prayers with the monks and then move on to the preparation and enjoyment of breakfast from 7am.

Stop At: Sennan, Sennan, Osaka Prefecture, Kinki
Visit a nearby temple of great importance. This is where Tokugawa hid out with his samurais back in his days of conquest. Afterwards, a bit more Zen and sword practice and demonstration. Plan on being back on a train to Osaka or beyond at around 11:30am.

- Alcohol may not be consumed during this experience, and is not allowed on site.
- Even in colder weather, please bring shorts to wear underneath the samurai clothing.
