    Inverness is known as the capital of the Scottish Highlands, it is one of Europe's fastest growing cities and a great choice for a shore excursion when in port.

    This six hour fun tour includes a relaxing cruise on the world famous Loch Ness. This loch (lake) is 755 feet deep, which makes it the biggest loch in the British Isles. Here you could meet the legend that is the Loch Ness Monster.

    A highlight of the tour is the stunning Urquhart Castle, here we will explain the role it played during the War for Scottish Independence. Built in the 13th century, royalty used to live here until part of it was destroyed to stop it being used by the opposition.

    The adventure continues on a coach ride back to Inverness with stunning views of Loch Ness during the journey. Here you can wander Inverness whilst hearing the interesting history it offers and how it is linked to Loch Ness.

    This tour will allow some great opportunities for photos, including the of the massive Inverness Castle. This red sandstone structure is the latest in a succession of castles that have stood on this site throughout the centuries. You will also see Inverness Cathedral, a large Episcopal church that evolved from a humble mission effort in 1853.

    Towards the end of the tour their are some good opportunities to take a souvenir of Scotland home before we head back to port to meet your ship with plenty of time before it departs.
