    As one-fourth of the city still resides in the fort, it is believed to be one of the few living forts in the world. The fort was built by Rawat Rawal Jaisal from which the fort gets its name, Jaisalmer Fort. It is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan and now declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Built-in 1815, Salim Singh ki Haveli is built by Salim Singh, Prime Minister of the kingdom when Jaisalmer was the capital. The stones of this site are strongly connected with iron rods. The beautiful haveli has a roof constructed in the form of a peacock.

    It is a must-visit site if in Jaisalmer. The facts say that the construction of this haveli was started with two points at the same time. The huge yellow sandstone statue is ready to welcome you as you enter.

    Bada Bagh, translation - Big garden, is a place to find royal cenotaphs of Maharajas of Jaisalmer. As you enter the site from the bottom of the hill you will start to see cenotaphs. Each cenotaph has a marble stone with inscribed details about the ruler.
