Judean & Negev Desert Adventures (guided)

Day 1 - WELCOME TO ISRAEL

Arrival and check in at our hotel in Tel Aviv. Meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby at 6 p.m. (18:00), for a briefing of the tour

Day 2 - ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO EIN GEDI

We leave Tel Aviv, and drive along the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi Reserve.This is the only desert nature reserve that has running streams and waterfalls perennially.  The Reserve is the habitat of a wide range of animals: Nubian ibex, rock hyrax, fox, hyena and birds among them Tristram’s starling.  Hike along one of the trails of Ein Gedi National Park. Meet Nubian ibex- a wild goat typical of the Negev and Judean Deserts

Day 3 - DESERT CANYONING IN NAHAL RAHAF CANYON

A short drive will bring us to one of the most amazing canyons in the Judean desert, Rahaf, overlooking the Dead Sea and the Moab Mountains. With the guidance of our canyoning expert, who will distribute the equipment (helmet and reins), we will start the canyoning experience which will include rappelling for descending cliffs 15 TO 40 meters high, and swimming across water-filled natural rock cisterns(pools)

Day 4 - MASADA FORTRESS- BIKING IN NAHAL PRATZIM- MOUNT SODOM

Drive along the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car to visit this unique site constructed two thousand years ago by King Herod. Descend and proceed to starting point of the biking route to meet our guide. Commence a 3 hour ride in Nahal Pratzim and Mt. Sodom. Wrap up the day by swimming, or rather, floating on the Dead Sea.

Day 5 - NEGEV DESERT- CAMEL RIDE-MITZPE RAMON

Leaving the Judean Desert behind, head south to the Negev. After a Beduin “hafla” (festive dinner), mount camels and experience the way deserts were crossed for centuries. Drive to Mitzpe Ramon, the highest town in the Negev, and in the evening, enjoy a breathtaking walk along the edge of the Ramon crater. This is the largest geological depression on earth

Day 6 - JEEP TOUR-RAMON CRATER-SPICE ROUTE

Meet your guide and descend into the depths of the Ramon Crater for a full desert jeep safari. Following the ancient paths of the Spice Route, stop at an ancient Nabatian Han (Inn).

Day 7 - EIN OVDAT- JERUSALEM

Start the day with a visit to the impressive canyon of Ein Ovdat, consisting of rock and streaming waterfalls. Meet Nubian ibex, rock hyrax and vultures nesting in the nature reserve. At noon drive north to Jerusalem. End the day with the special ambience of an evening walk on the walls surrounding the Old City.

Day 8 - THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM

Tour the Old City of Jerusalem sacred to Christians, Moslems and Jews. Walk on the Via Dolorosa, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Stop at the Western Wall and see the Temple Mount. Visit the Moslem quarter. Stroll through the colorful and vibrant bazaar. Overnight in Jerusalem.
