  • Day 1: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park

    Stop At: Kidepo Valley National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Northern Region
    Your wild safari to Uganda’s remote Kidepo Valley National Park will start with an experienced driver who will double as your guide picking you from a suitable location in Kampala. After a briefing about your 3 days wild safari, you will head out towards the North-eastern Uganda, taking the Soroti – Kotido – Amuria route. As you drive closer to Kidepo Valley National Park, rugged semi-arid valleys will spring into view. You will enjoy the sight of the open savannas, the seasonal oases and the distant mountain ranges.

    A wild safari to Kidepo is a chance to encounter one of Africa’s finest wildernesses. You will have lunch en route and arrive at the park in the evening. You will have a game drive through Kidepo valley before retiring to your choice lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 2: Game drive – visiting the native Karamojong community

    Stop At: Kidepo Valley National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Northern Region
    Your second day of your Kidepo wild safari will begin with you having breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the park’s famous Narus valley. The valley attracts a high concentration of wildlife because of its water sources. A guided game drive through this prized area is your chance to see a number of wildlife among other carnivores species unique to Kidepo.

    The other great mammals to see on this wild safari include; the African elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffalo, bushbucks, zebras, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest and Bush babies. You will also have a chance to sight the Kidepo and Narus rivers.

    After having lunch, you will embark on a cultural trail to the native Karamojong community. A wild safari to Kidepo is incomplete without encountering the nomadic Karamojongs. Cattle keeping and pastoralism is their life. You will see their manyattas – kraals, the grinding stones, the local defence fences, and their cultural dance – edonga, among other things. You will be inspired by their culture and way of life. You will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight in the late evening.

    Day 3: Visit Kanangarok hot springs – drive back to Kampala

    Stop At: Kampala, Kampala, Central Region
    The last day of your wild safari will begin with an early breakfast before heading out to Kanangarok, a tepid hot spring located at the extreme north of the park. This spring is Kidepo’s most permanent source of water.

    You will then embark on your journey back to Kampala. Your guide will ensure that you have a delicious lunch en route. You will reach Kampala in the late evening marking the end of your 3 days Kidepo Valley National Park wild safari.
