  • Day 1: From the Roman Empire to the mafia republic

    We will walk on the avenue de la "République", a representative Haussmannian architecture, before entering the "Le Panier" district, the oldest in Marseille and France! We will pass in front of the Marseille cathedral built in the 19th century, then in the narrow and picturesque streets entirely painted by local artists. Inside this beautiful district, we will see, among others, La Vieille Charité, La Place des Moulins, we will talk about the founding of Marseille and its 2,600 years of existence. Once on the Place de Lenche, you will have the chance to get in touch with the local culture thanks to a delicious tasting of Shuttles and chocolate, two typical products Made in Marseille. To finish this visit, we will walk in the Saint Laurent church, one of the oldest in the city and, standing, with a breathtaking view of the Old Port and the Mucem, your guide will answer all your questions and you will provide valuable information.

    After lunch, discover the Palais Longchamp, the Belle de Mai district, the Friche and the Couvent du Levat, their art exhibitions and their multiple activities depending on the season.     After lunch, we invite you to discover the exotic district of Noailles and its exotic market located in the heart of Marseille. Discover the origin of the most famous national anthem in the world, find out where the first cinema was in history, visit 200 year old shops that work in the same place and enter the colorful and lively market and its shops of oriental spices where you can enjoy a traditional menthol tea. You will also feel the permanent drama and the struggle of the inhabitants of the neighborhood against gentrification, unsanitary housing and the fear of being evicted from their homes in a neighborhood undergoing contrasting renovation. All accompanied by a young anthropologist guide living in the neighborhood.     Day 3: Old and new traditions

    Whether you know how to play or not, the main thing is to spend a friendly moment around an ancestral game! After lunch, we will start the activity by visiting the pétanque house, in the heart of the Panier, to soak up the atmosphere. After an explanation of the origin of the game and the place visited, we will launch hostilities a short distance from there. It is on the Esplanade du Major that together we will try our hand at the art of pétanque. After an hour of intense play, it will be time to take a well-deserved local aperitif! Good humor and friendliness will be the watchwords.
