Mindo Bike and Hike in the Cloud Forest

Day 1: BIKING INTO THE CLOUD FOREST

Stop At: Mindo, Mindo, Pichincha Province
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel, we will drive for 45 minutes up to the foothills of the Pichincha Volcano; we will start our biking adventure at 11,260 feet with magnificent views of the Andean fields, as we descend we will see how the vegetation changes from bushes to high trees, this route is known as Ruta del Quinde, that means The Hummingbird Route, so you have great chances for viewing colorful birds along the ride, our day included a picnic that would be served on the way, and in the afternoon we will arrive at the lodge.

Day 2: HIKING TO THE SEVEN WATERFALLS

Stop At: Mindo, Mindo, Pichincha Province
After breakfast we will drive to the Mindo Nambillo reserve, and take a Tarabita “cable car” to reach the trail in the middle of the forest, we start hiking on an irregular terrain on a dirt path, your guide will help you find some wildlife, this reserve is very well known for having hundreds of bird species, including toucans, parrots, quetzals, and some other ones that have made of Mindo, one of the top destinations for birdwatchers in south America. This path is also known as the seven waterfalls as you will see many on your way, it is possible to take a quick bath to refresh your self before leaving this magical place. Lunch will be on your own, and later you can do optional activities like going to the butterfly farm, chocolate factory, zip-lining or tubing
