Naples Walking Tour with the Veiled Christ by Local Guide

    This square is home to Palazzo San Giacomo, the seat of the city hall and the 17th-century historic Neptune Fountain. This is one of the largest squares in Europe and one of the most important due to its proximity to the port of Naples, to Maschio Angioino, the San Giacomo palace, the shopping street, Via Toledo and the Town Hall.

    This gallery has beautiful entrance arches on the exterior and within the gallery is a classic chic Italian marble floor crossing below the Dome point. The historical importance of the Gallery stems from the strong cholera epidemic that led to the destruction of the overcrowded neighbourhoods in Naples. The Gallery is still striking today for the majesty, elegance and complexity of the structure. Today, it stands as one of the masterpieces of the city.
