Olive Oil and Wine Half-Day Tour from Venice and Padua

This guided tour gives you the opportunity to discover the local products of the area of the Natural Park of Colli Euganei.

The tastings will take place right in the middle of perfectly shaped hills, medieval villages, enchanted valleys, lost in a sea of vineyards and olive trees.

Guided visit of the cellar and 4 wine tasting paired with local Venetian products (cheese and salami). You can taste the local Muscat, the Serprino and Prosecco, the red Merlot and Cabernet and understand how soil and microclimate influence the taste of the wine.

    The Euganean hills are a group of volcanic hills that rise 50 km from Venice and 20 km from Padua. Venetian noblemen built their residences during the Renaissance in this area and the cereals, the wine, the fruits and especially the quarried stone from these hills where shipped to the rich markets of Venice.

    According to archeological sources, the ancient lakeside sanctuary, frequented by Venetian people between the late eighth and third centuries BC, stood right here, in the area between Monte Castello and Colle Montagnone. It was a lake of about 2 square kilometers and a roundish shape, originated from a pool of thermal water. The sulfur fumes, considered divine, flowed naturally and powerful from the heart of the earth and they were venerated with votive offerings, mostly vases, bowls, cups and glasses.
