The Archaeological Park of the Contrada Diana of Lipari extends in the vast flat area bordered to the east by the historic center of the current city, to the west by the opposite slope, to the south by the Vallone Ponte and to the north by the Vallone S. Lucia. The Park area includes the large fenced area adjacent to the Bishop's Palace, bounded on the south by the via Diana (now G. Marconi), and other small adjacent archaeological areas.
The Archaeological Park of the Contrada Diana was established in 1971 following the archaeological excavations conducted by Luigi Bernabò Brea and Madeleine Cavalier who had discovered a long stretch of the Greek walls of the 4th century BC C. The idea of the Park was born together with the Episcopal Curia and the Municipality of Lipari to create a green lung in the city.

The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, is a reference point for the Shopping of the island of Lipari with sales points of the most famous Italian and foreign prestigious brands.

The Aeolian Regional Archaeological Museum is located in the castle complex overlooking the island of Lipari. The museum was built after World War II and contains, for the most part, archaeological finds from systematic excavation campaigns, conducted by archaeologists Luigi Bernabò Brea and Madeleine Cavalier, in the territory of the Aeolian Islands.
