  • This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join your host Esther at her home kitchen for a sauce making class and gourmet meal. Start your experience with a glass of white wine and a seasonal homemade appetizer like fresh homemade cheese with herbs on crackers or a fresh salsa (with tomatoes and herbs from her garden) and chips. Esther makes her own yoghurt, cheeses and pickles and gathers as many ingredients from her garden as she can. Next join Esther in the kitchen to learn to make three sauces - a flour sauce, wine sauce and egg sauce that will accompany three dishes. Learn the techniques involved in making rich and delicious sauces that will elevate any meal before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare with Esther. On days that her husband David is available, he will join you at the table for your meal. Your meal concludes with a dessert that Esther may have prepared in advance.
