Shore Excursion from Messina to Mount Etna and Taormina

After departing from Messina, you will travel to Mount Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe, along a scenic drive along the Sicilian coast. From the volcano, you will have marvelous views of the surrounding natural park and the lava field left by the last eruption. You can even ascend the mountain by cable car.

After leaving Mount Etna, travel towards Taormina and take time out to visit one of the famous wine companies of the region and taste some of their fantastic wines and local delicacies.

Also along the way, you will pass through the town of Giarre and stop at Crateri Silvestri, a strange lunar landscape, perfect for a photo stop.


Stop At: Taormina, Taormina, Province of Messina, Sicily

Upon reaching the picturesque town of Taormina, you will visit the historical city center. You can enjoy a delicious lunch at a local, outdoor café (at own expense). Then, you will see the famous ancient theatre, before continuing on to a beautiful vista overlooking the Bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. Then visit the Palazzo Corvaja and the Corso Umberto.

Your driver will then return you to the Port of Messina at approximately 5pm.
