A tour for a dip in the Renaissance and in the Middle Ages of Florence, starting from the neighborhood where the history of the Medici family began. We will visit the elegant cloister of San Lorenzo designed by Brunelleschi, an oasis of peace in the heart of the city and we will head towards Palazzo Medici, the first Renaissance palace in history and, following in the direction of Piazza del Duomo, we will contemplate the imposing cathedral, the campanille by Giotto and the Baptistery of San Giovanni with the door of paradise, a true masterpiece by Lorenzo Ghiberti, and of course the sublime dome by Filippo Brunelleschi! From here we will continue to the Mercato della Paglia, where the famous Fontana del Porcellino is located, that every tourist must touch the nose (the complete procedure to get a good omen would be to put a little coin in the mouth of the Porcellino after rubbing the nose : if the coin falling over the grating where the water falls will bring good luck, otherwise not!). Immediately after we head towards Piazza della Signoria, a real open-air museum, a marvel with the Loggia dei Lanzi and its statues, and the imposing Palazzo Vecchio from where the fantastic Vasari corridor begins. The tour continues through the traditional and elegant Ponte Vecchio, with its jewelers that once gave way to the fish and meat market. After crossing the bridge, you will arrive at the magnificent Palazzo Pitti, the last residence of the Medici and today the second most important museum in the city. From here our walking tour provides the return to the city center up to the district of Dante Alighieri, where the poet knew his impossible love, Beatrice Poerinari. There, we will see the exterior of the building that would have been his family home and which today houses a very interesting museum in his honor; in the same district we find the Bargello museum, which we will always see from the outside, it is one of the most important in Italy, because it houses important sculptures by Michelangelo, Donatello, Benvenuto Cellini, Gian Bologna and so on.
