The Fully Local (Private) Tour

This private day tour is so local, even locals are surprised. And thats why its a local tour.

A full day of fun and destinations you’ve never seen or have possibly only heard about in legend! For country regional visitors its a big day out with loads of choice. You'd never know Perth had so much to offer..

The itinerary listed here is a guide to the types of places I take you to and there are many more to choose from when we get started. Its a bit of a treasure hunt or a Magic Portal into Perths little known hidden gems.

I have created six menus with over 100 choices of things to do and see, places to eat and drink and lots of obscure local stuff. Menu titles include: Natural Perth, Feed Me, Off The Beaten Track, I must have some Booze, The Big Sites and The Finest Wines available to Humanity.

Deliberately quirky and obscure, with little known treasures included in this fun packed day thats guaranteed to lift the lid on this wonderful city and its surrounding regions.

Stop At: The Coombe, Mosman Park WA 6012, Australia

There are many delightful hidden coves, river beaches and natural features along the Swan River which a large bus tour would have no hope of negotiating.
The Coombe in Mosman Park is one such destination and there are many local stories that your guide will happily share along these stops.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Earlsferry Sculptures, 1 Earlsferry Ct, Bassendean WA 6054, Australia

Tucked away off the main road to Guildford is one of Perths True hidden treasures. The metalworking artists at Earlsferry are in a class of their own. The massive pieces they create from junk metal and scrap items or found objects are truly impressive. A highly recommended stop.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Bon Scott Grave, Carrington St & Leach Hwy, Palmyra WA 6157, Australia

Resting place of local Fremantle boy and lead singer of legendary Australian rock band AC/DC, Bon Scotts unassuming gravesite is a pilgrimage for local and visiting music fans alike.
Walk through the AC/DC gates and raise a toast of your favourite whiskey to the great man if you wish.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Old Young's Distillery, 10581 W Swan Rd, Henley Brook WA 6055, Australia

These Gin & Vodka distillers smash world records on a regular basis. Their tastings are almost a theatrical experience and story telling is their thing. And then there are the Gins!...amazing flavours neat or with tonic pairings, a visit to Old Youngs in the Swan Valley is a must if you like the clear stuff!

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Bayswater Station, Bayswater WA 6053, Australia

The Bayswater Railway Bridge has its own website. Look it up. It diligently tells you how many days it has been since some poor truck driver has miscalculated the height of his vehicle and stuck himself beneath its steel trusses.
The bridge may not be long for this tour as plans are in place to replace it but for now it is offered as a "drive through" option.
Locals have suggested a speaker system be installed to play "Another one Bites the Dust" every time a vehicle impacts beneath the railway bridge. Others simply joke that "She Feeds again"....

    Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Tonon Vineyard & Winery, 44 Carmel Rd, Carmel WA 6076, Australia

The first grower of Prosecco in the Perth Hills, Tonon Winery in the Bickley Valley has a great story. Daniel & Daniella offer tastings on request and have won Best Perth Hills Sparkling in 2019 & 2020. If wines are your thing, Tonon Winery is well worth a visit.

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Canning River Regional Park, Kent Street, Canning, Western Australia 6107 Australia

The Convict Fence in the Canning River, Shelley, is a little known part of Perths history. Hand built as a retaining fence for a deeper channel for the transportation of heavy timber logs in the 1860's, this line of timber posts is a mystery to many locals but can be included and its story revealed on the tour.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Blue Boat Shed, Mounts Bay Road, Perth, Western Australia Australia

The Blue Boat Shed in Crawley located along Mounts Bay Road has become one of Perths most popular photographic destinations particularly for international visitors.
Its popularity is the cause of much debate and there are many locals with their own views on the subject. Regardless of the reasons, the Blue Boat Shed has become an iconic photographic destination and lines of happy snappers are often seen patiently waiting their turn along the rivers edge.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Coogee Common, 371 Cockburn Rd, Coogee WA 6166, Australia

The magnificently refurbished Coogee Hotel south of Fremantle might be a bit of a drive out of the way for Perth but its a place with much history and sensational food.
For an additional fee you can take a tour of the massive kitchen gardens with commentary from the staff and experience a choice of cocktail, entree & Main course.

    Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Lesmurdie, Lesmurdie, Perth Hills, Greater Perth, Western Australia

A leisurely walk along a flowing creek up to the falls for a photo and a moment to forget about the hustle and bustle.

    Duration: 45 minutes
