Tree Climbing Lions in Queen Elizabeth 3 Day Park Safari

The park which was named in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth's, is famous for its wildlife which includes a population of over 95 mammal species and 500 species of birds among which is; the cape buffalo, hippos, elephants, leopards, lions and chimpanzees. The Queen Elizabeth National Park is also renowned for its tree climbing lions found in an area called Ishasha in Rukungiri district among other volcanic features which offer a wealth of attractions for an eventful safari travel experience.

  • Day 1: Leave Kampala with a brief stop at the Uganda equator

    Your 3 days wildlife safari expedition to Queen Elizabeth National Park will begin when a driver guide picks you from the Airport, before setting off to the Park. While driving, you will make a brief stop at the equator in Kayabwe on Masaka, you will also have a chance to do an experiment which proves that the imaginary line (equator) diving the world into two halves is in that place. After the experience at the equator, you will continue with your journey and arrive at Queen Elizabeth in the early evening.

    You will check in at your safari lodge for accommodation and retire to an early dinner, or you can choose to go for an evening nature walk or a nocturnal game drive when the night sets in.

    Day 2: Game drive in the park and a boat cruise on Kazinga channel

    Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Western Region
    The second day of your Uganda safari experience in Queen Elizabeth will have you waking up to a beautiful African sunrise and a tasty breakfast. You will then drive to the park headquarters where you will set out for a morning game drive to explore the wildlife in the royal Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will spot large mammals such as elephants, water bucks, hippos, warthogs, the giant forest hog and lions. You will also explore the Kasenyi plain a drive taking the route towards Lake George in the typical African savannas. The rolling plains favor a large game population and it’s the most reliable place to see tree climbing lions, among other predator species.

    In the afternoon after your lunch, you will set out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a 40 km water channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George where you will be able to spot a large number hippos and Nile crocodiles plus a number of water birds as well as mammals to be spotted in the areas nearing the shores.

    Day 3: Drive to Entebbe

    Pass By: Entebbe, Entebbe, Central Region
    You will have an early morning breakfast and then set out for your final safari travel excursions in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will embark on a trip to the Katwe crater lakes region, a cluster of ten crater lakes formed from volcanic explosion, before setting out on your journey back to Airport to catch your flight. This will mark the end of your memorable safari travel experience to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
