Day 1: Tunis - Kairouan - Tozeur

Your first trip will be to the fourth holiest city of Islam (after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem), Kairouan. It has the oldest mosque in Africa, The Great Mosque. Kairouan is also a major shopping destination. Inside its colorful souks, you will find mesmerizing carpets and souvenirs. You will have lunch in Kairouan then you will continue to Tozeur.

You will continue to Tozeur to have dinner and overnight at "Ras El Ain" Hotel or equivalent.

Day 2: Tozeur - Douz - Matmata

Stop At: Tozeur, Tozeur, Tozeur Governorate
After breakfast, you will get in a 4x4 for an off-road adventure. You will arrive at Oung Djemel which is one of the Star Wars movie sets. After that, you will stop at the large Mountain Oasis of Chebika and Tamerza which contains beautiful canyons with palm trees and a waterfall. Then, you will cross Chott El Djerid which is the largest salt lake on the African continent. Chott el Djerid is over 1.5 times larger than the Great Salt Lake of Utah. While in Tozeur, you will spend a good occupied by the labyrinths of the old city (Medina). You will have lunch in Tozeur.

Stop At: Douz, Douz, Kebili Governorate
You will have lunch then you will continue for Douz where people are naturally open and friendly. Douz is a place where dunes and palm trees cover the golden vastness of the desert.

Stop At: Matmata, Matmata, Gabes Governorate
You will arrive in Matmata to enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 3: Matmata - El Jem - Tunis

Stop At: Matmata, Matmata, Gabes Governorate
After breakfast, you will visit the Berber city of Matmata in Southern Tunisia. It is famous for its underground houses and cave dwellers which are cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter. Another thing Matmata is famous for, the Star Wars film sets. Four of the Star Wars movies were partially filmed in Southern Tunisia. (The planet Tatooine in the movies). You can stay in Luke Skywalker’s home (now a hotel) and wander around the desert bumping into moisture Vaporators and other Star Wars stuff. You will have lunch and continue your journey.

Stop At: Amphitheatre of El Jem, El-Jem Tunisia
After that, your driver will pick you up to start the journey by going to the city of El Jem to explore the impressive ruins of the largest colosseum in North Africa. A huge amphitheater which could hold up to 35,000 spectators. You will also visit the museum of El Jem which illustrates the grandeur and extent of imperial Rome.
