The MAT, since its creation, has been an important cultural attraction thought and founded by Mayor Ricardo Ubieto (1933-2006) who involved the entire community of Tigre in the project.

In its founding decree, it states: “… its collection will be integrated with the most representative works of Argentine art, between the 19th and 20th centuries. Stop At: Catedral de San Isidro, Avenida Del Libertador 16200, San Isidro B1642CKV Argentina

The Cathedral of San Isidro is a neo-Gothic style religious temple. It adopted forms of the style used in Europe between the 12th and 16th centuries, the only difference being that modern materials and techniques were used. The most characteristic thing about the Cathedral is its slender lines thought out of religiosity so that they point towards the sky. Its façade was restored from simile stone and exposed brick with molding of the original ornaments in a workshop.

Its main tower is 68 m high. Its base is a Latin cross with three naves with a circular apse. The columns are cylindrical and the stone and brick walls have openings with stained glass windows made in France and Gothic rosettes.

Upon entering the Cathedral you can appreciate its grandeur through its forms that stand out from its last restoration. Inside you can see the columns and arches in the Neo-Gothic style that take you to the altar.
