The day starts at the Botahtuang Pagoda, a religious monument rumored to have been built 2,500 years ago and contain a hair of the Buddha. The stupa is highly revered in the Buddhist community and one of the city’s most important landmarks.

You will explore to the picturesque center of Yangon which hosts Sule Pagoda (view from outside), Mahabandoola Park, City Hall, and the High Court.

Stop At: Bogyoke Aung San Market, Bo Gyoke Rd, Pabedan 11141 Myanmar

You will visit Yangon’s largest outdoor market. Hosting vendors from across the country, you will squeeze through stalls of clothing, handicrafts, and jewelry sipping on fruit juice and perusing art galleries.

Stop At: Yangon Central Railway Station, Kun Chan Rd, Yangon (Rangoon) 11222 Myanmar

You will change gears and hop on the circular train. For an hour you will ride the rails, cutting through the hustle of the city. The train offers a closer look into the lives of its passengers: commuters, fruit vendors, monks, families, and students on their way to class.

Next, you are off to the magnificent reclining Buddha.

The last stop is the Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most distinctive landmark. Aside from its 99-metre-high stupa that hovers over the city’s skyline, Shwedagon is the Myanmar’s most sacred pagoda and a major pilgrimage site. After taking in the sunset, you will be returned to the hotel.
