Yangon Sidecar Tour

Sanchaung is a dynamic township in the west of Yangon stretching from the Circular Railway line to the U Wisara Road. With its lively neighbourhoods, colourful markets, quiet lanes and a number of venerable heritage buildings it is a perfect quarter to explore. Some 100 000 people live here, which are a blend of various ethnicities and religions.

The best way to explore Sanchaung is by sidecar which brings you not only to significant places like the quiet Rangoon War Cemetery, the nearly 100 years old Kyee Myin Daing Railway Station or the venerable Koe Htat Gyi Pagoda but also to a bustling market and to creative artisans for religious objects.

The sidecar drivers are all residents from this township and are happy to show you their home area. They work in collaboration with us from the Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute (MRTI) which is promoting responsible tourism development in Myanmar.
