In the Spring of 2018 I arrived at a lifelong dream destination, Nepal. I had just crossed the India/Nepal border and had spent time in the bustling Indian cities and then the booming capital city of Kathmandu so I was in much need of a quiet getaway (a holiday fro my holiday if you will).
I heard about the Famous Farm through work colleagues and thought I'd give it a go and absolutely fell in love! Everything from the view to the customer service, the local food, the beautiful rooms and even the farm animals.
Located at the base of the Himalayan foothills this property was absolutely perfect and honestly one of the best travel experiences that I've ever had.
The staff at the Famous Farm are absolutely incredible and the friendliest people I've met. They gave us cooking classes and taught us how to make some traditional Nepalese food. The food was amazing and the kind staff would tell us about what it's like growing up in the countryside.
The lantern-lit bedrooms in the charming cottages had a boutique feel and were clean and comfortable. One of the staff members took us for a walk around the mountain to give us a great look at the little local village and to see the fortress and citadel of Nuwakot.
